Just like attitudes toward aging, encouraging new attitudes toward style and beauty have to come from us. What we accept and support as our reality is what will prevail.

What is the first thing that comes to mind when you think about aging? Is it negative or positive? Does it make you feel sad or happy? Too many people associate aging with negativity. When in reality it can be the best time of your life.

So often as age we wonder what it all means. We hope that after all these years we will discover some answers to the meaning of our lives. We ask ourselves “Is This All There Is”? Constantly focusing on meaning we miss what is unfolding to us every day.

Have you ever looked at a photo of your grandmother and upon calculating her age been shocked to find she was much younger than you, but looked so much older.

Life is thrilling and scary, beautiful and terrible, joyful and sad. It will always be all of those things no matter what we do because it is part of being human.

I am now 76 years old and have no desire to portray myself as younger.  I don’t want to look or be 66. I don’t want to look back, I don’t want to hang onto years that have passed. I am too excited to see what is to come! I am still learning new things about myself and every day is a chance to do better than I did the day before.
